Create a Searchable / Filterable Product Metafield

Shopify allows merchants to set up to 50 indexable metafields for filtering products in the admin and on the storefront.

Setup​

  1. Go to Settings → Custom data → Products → Add definition
  2. Set your namespace and key
  3. Choose the metafield type
  4. Activate "Filtering for products"
  5. Click Save

Using Filters in Metafield Studio​

Once a metafield is indexed for filtering:

  1. Click the filtering button in the toolbar
  2. Select "Add filter"
  3. Choose your metafield from the dropdown
  4. Input the desired value to filter by

This allows you to quickly find resources with specific metafield values directly within Metafield Studio's interface.
